Hadith 5921

(1) The statement “Hasan and Husayn are the leaders of the youth of the people of Paradise”: Al-Muzhir said: This means they are the most excellent of those who departed young in the way of Allah among the inhabitants of Paradise, not referring to the age of youth, as they both departed in old age. Rather, it refers to the chivalry associated with youth, as one might say, “So-and-so is a young man,” even if he is elderly, pointing to his nobility and vigor. Alternatively, it means they are the leaders of the people of Paradise, except for the Prophets and the Rightly Guided Caliphs, as all the inhabitants of Paradise are of the same youthful age, with no elderly or middle-aged among them. At-Tibi said: It could also mean that they are currently the leaders of the youth among the people of Paradise from the young people of this era. (As stated in Al-Mirqat)

(۱) قوله: الحسن والحسين سيدا شباب أهل الجنة: قال المظهر : يعني هما أفضل من مات شابا في سبيل الله من أصحاب الجنة، ولم يرد به سن الشباب؛ لأنهما ماتا وقد كهلا، بل ما يفعله الشباب من المروة كما يقال: فلان فتى، وإن كان شيخا يشير إلى مروته وفتوته أو أنهما سيدا أهل الجنة سوى الأنبياء والخلفاء الراشدين؛ وذلك لأن أهل الجنة كلهم في سن واحد، وهو الشباب، وليس فيهم شيخ ولا كهل. قال الطيبي: ويمكن أن يراد هما الآن سيدا شباب من هم من أهل الجنة من شبان هذا الزمان. كذا في «المرقاة».
