Narrated by Al-Fadl ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him: The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, came to us while we were in a desert area, and Abbas was with him. He prayed in an open space without a Sutrah in front of him, and our donkey and a dog were playing in front of him, but he did not pay attention to it.

ف: یہ حدیث اس بات پر دلیل ہے کہ نمازی کے لئے بوقت نماز سترہ قائم کرنا واجب نہیں ہے اگر عوام کی گزرگاہ ہو تو سترہ کا قائم کرنا مستحب ہے اور عوام کی گزرگاہ نہ ہونے کی صورت میں بھی سترہ کا قائم کرنا اولیٰ ہے۔ (عمدۃ الرعایۃ، اشعۃ اللمعات۔)
