Al-Karkhi reported: "Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas prayed Witr with one rak'ah, and Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) criticized him, saying: 'What is this Butayra that we do not recognize from the time of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)?'"
