Al-Sa'ib ibn Yazid (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: "The call (Adhan) on Friday during the time of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), Abu Bakr, and Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) was first given when the Imam sat on the pulpit. When Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) became the Caliph and the people increased, he added a third call at Al-Zawra'."
