Muhammad ibn Khalid al-Sulami reported from his father, from his grandfather (may Allah be pleased with him), that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "When a servant is destined for a rank by Allah that he cannot attain through his deeds, Allah tests him in his body, wealth, or children, then grants him patience until he reaches the rank destined for him by Allah"
