English
Yahya ibn Abdullah ibn Bukhayr reported that someone informed him that Farwah ibn Musayk (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, we have a land called Abyan, which is our farmland and source of livelihood, but its epidemic is severe.' The Prophet (ﷺ) said: 'Leave it, 1 for destruction comes from mixing with filth'"

Note 1
(1) The statement: "Leave it" is similar to "Leave it; it is wretched." Ali al-Qari (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "This is not about contagion but about health. Good air is one of the greatest aids to physical health, and bad air is one of the quickest causes of illness."
Note 1
