Al-Bara’ ibn ‘Azib (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: I was with ‘Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) when the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) appointed him as governor of Yemen. The hadith continues until he mentioned in it: He (‘Ali) said: I came to the Prophet (ﷺ), meaning ‘Ali, and he asked me, “What have you done?” I replied, “I have entered into the state of ihram with the same intention as the Prophet (ﷺ).” He said, “Indeed, I have driven the sacrificial animal and combined the rites (Qiran).” The hadith.

It is mentioned in Al-Jawhar al-Naqi: Its chain is authentic. Al-Hakim recorded it in his Mustadrak and said: “Its chain is authentic.” In its chain is Dawud ibn ‘Abd al-Rahman al-‘Attar, and he is trustworthy, with narrations in the Sahihayn (Bukhari and Muslim) and the remaining six books. In a narration by Ahmad from the hadith of Suraqah with a fully trustworthy chain, it states: “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) combined Hajj and Umrah (Qiran) during the Farewell Pilgrimage.”
