Zujajat al-Masabih 417Volume 1

English

It is narrated from Rabi’ah bint Mu'awwidh ibn Afra (may Allah be pleased with her) that she saw the Prophet ﷺ performing ablution. She said: "He wiped his head, wiping what was in the front and what was at the back, and his temples and his ears, once." [Narrated by Tirmidhi, who said: "It has also been narrated through other chains from the Prophet ﷺ that he wiped his head once] The practice of most scholars from among the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ and those after them is based on this." In a narration from Bukhari, it is reported: "He wiped his head, moving his hands forward and backward once, then washed his feet up to the ankles."
