Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) frequently oiled his head and combed his beard, and he often used a head covering, 2 as if his garment was that of an oil seller .
(2) The statement: "frequently used a head covering": This refers to a cloth placed on the head under the turban after using oil to protect the turban from the oil’s effect and dirt, likened to a woman’s veil. Thus, it is stated in Al-Mirqat.
