English

Abu Umamah bin Sahl bin Hunayf (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: Amir bin Rabi’ah saw Sahl bin Hunayf bathing and said: By Allah, I have never seen skin like today’s, not even a hidden maiden’s. Sahl collapsed. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was told: O Messenger of Allah, can you help Sahl bin Hunayf? By Allah, he cannot lift his head. He said: Do you suspect anyone? They said: We suspect Amir bin Rabi’ah. The Prophet (ﷺ) called Amir, rebuked him, and said: Why would one of you kill his brother? Why didn’t you bless him? Wash for him. Amir washed 1 his face, hands, elbows, knees, feet, and the inside of his waistband in a vessel, then it was poured over Sahl, who recovered and left with the people unharmed [Narrated in Sharh As-Sunnah]. In Malik’s narration: He said: The evil eye is real; perform ablution for him. So he did.
