English

Anas said: I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ performing wudu while wearing a Qitri turban, and he put his hands under the turban and wiped the front of his head. [Narrated by Abu Dawood, and Al-Hakim narrated a similar version from Abu Ma'qil] Shumuni said: It is well known that the forelock and the front of the head are one of its four sides. If wiping a quarter of the head were not sufficient, he would not have limited himself to that. And if wiping less than that was sufficient, the Prophet ﷺ would have done it at least once in his lifetime as a lesson for the permissibility.
