Zujajat al-Masabih 4899Volume 4

English

Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said regarding Allah’s statement: “Repel with that which is better”: “It refers to patience during anger and forgiveness during offense. When they 1 do this, Allah protects them, and their enemy submits to them as if he were a close friend.” [Narrated by Bukhari as a ta’liq] Ali al-Qari said: “It has been mentioned previously that what Bukhari narrates in the passive form is weak, while what he narrates in the active form is authentic.”
