Chapter on Enjoining Good and Forbidding Evil

Zujajat al-Masabih 4941Volume 4

English

Usamah ibn Zayd (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “A man will be brought on the Day of Resurrection and cast into the Fire, his intestines spilling out in the Fire, grinding in it like a donkey at its mill. The people of the Fire will gather around him and say: ‘O so-and-so, what is wrong with you? Did you not enjoin good and forbid evil?’ He will say: ‘I used to enjoin good but not do it, and forbid evil but do it.’”
