English

Ibn Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) slept on a mat, and when he rose, it had left marks on his body. Ibn Mas’ud said: “O Messenger of Allah, if you had ordered us, we would have spread something for you and prepared it.” He said: “What have I to do with the world? I am with the world only like a rider who rests under a tree, then departs and leaves it behind.”
