Ubadah ibn as-Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “In Paradise 1, there are a hundred levels, with the distance between each two levels being like that between the heavens and the earth. Al-Firdaws is the highest in rank, from which the four rivers of Paradise flow, and above it is the Throne. So when you ask Allah, ask Him for Al-Firdaws.” [Narrated by Tirmidhi] Narrated by Bukhari from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) in the Book of Jihad, in the Chapter “And His Throne was on the water,” with slight variations, and by Muslim in the Chapter on the Virtue of Jihad in the Cause of Allah.

Note 1
(1) His statement: “In Paradise, there are a hundred levels”: It is possible that this refers to abundance, as narrated by Al-Bayhaqi from Aisha, raised to the Prophet: “The levels of Paradise are as numerous as the verses of the Qur’an. Whoever enters Paradise from the people of the Qur’an has no level above him.” It can also be said that in Paradise, there are a hundred levels for each of its inhabitants, indicating the least of its vastness and types of blessings. (As stated in Al-Mirqat)
