you have been given a flute

(1) The statement “you have been given a flute”: In the passive voice, meaning a beautiful voice and melody from the flutes of Dawud’s family, referring to their melodies. The “family” is inclusive, and “flute” is metaphorically used for a beautiful voice and pleasant tone. (As stated in Al-Mirqat)
