Hadith 1026

It is narrated from Amr ibn Shu'ayb, from his father, from his grandfather, that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "If one of you marries his slave girl to his male slave, he should not look at her private area." [Narrated by Abu Dawud] In another narration by Al-Daraqutni: "The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'If one of you marries his slave girl to his male slave or his hired worker, he should not look at what is below the navel and above the knee, for what is between the navel and the knee is part of the private area (awrah).'" It is also narrated by Abdur-Razzaq from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) struck a slave girl belonging to the family of Anas because he saw her covering her head. He said: "Uncover your head; do not imitate free women."
