It is narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that Asma bint Abi Bakr entered upon the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) wearing thin clothes. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) turned away from her and said: "O Asma, when a woman reaches puberty, it is not appropriate for anything to be seen of her except this and this," and he pointed to his face and hands.

ف: اس حدیث سے ثابت ہوتا ہے کہ باریک تنزیب یا جالی وغیرہ کا بہت باریک دوپٹہ اوڑھ کر نماز پڑھنا درست نہیں، یہ اس وقت ہے جب کہ اس کپڑے میں سے بدن دکھائی دیتا ہے اور اگر جتنے بدن کا ڈھانکنا ضروری ہے اس کو دوسرے کپڑے سے ڈھک لیا گیا اور اس کے اوپر سے باریک دوپٹہ بھی اوڑھ لیا جائے تو نماز ہو جائے گی۔ (منیہ اور درمختار۔)
