Chapter on What is Not Permissible During Prayer and What is Allowed

Zujajat al-Masabih 1372Volume 1

English

Ata ibn Yasar (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said Takbir in one of the prayers, then gestured to the people to wait. He left and returned with traces of water on his skin, then resumed the prayer. [Narrated by Muhammad in "Al-Muwatta"] Muhammad said: "This is the ruling we follow. If someone is afflicted with an occurrence during prayer, there is no harm in leaving without speaking, performing ablution, and resuming the prayer. However, it is better to speak, perform ablution, and start the prayer anew."
