From Abu Rafi' (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Let none of you find himself reclining on his couch when a matter from my affairs, which I have commanded or prohibited, comes to him, and he says: 'We do not know, whatever we find in the Book of Allah, we follow it.'" [Narrated by Ahmad, Abu Dawood, Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah, and al-Bayhaqi in Dalail al-Nubuwwah.

ف: اس حدیث میں حضرت رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے منکرین حدیث کے متعلق واضح اشارہ فرمایا ہے کہ وہ از راہ جہالت یہ کہا کریں گے کہ کتاب اللہ کے سوا ہم کچھ نہیں جانتے اور اس کے سوا ہم کسی کی پیروی نہیں کرتے حالانکہ حضور اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو جس طرح قرآن عطا ہوا ہے اسی طرح حدیث بھی عطا ہوئی ہے اور شریعت کے احکام جس طرح قرآن سے ثابت ہوتے ہیں، اسی طرح احادیث نبوی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے ثابت ہوئے ہیں اس کے بعد جو حدیثیں آ رہی ہیں وہ بھی اس کی تائید کرتی ہیں۔
