Al-Bara (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "Whoever slaughters [the sacrificial animal] before the prayer, he only slaughters for himself. And whoever slaughters after the prayer, his sacrifice is complete and he has followed the Sunnah of the Muslims."
