Jabir ibn Atik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: “There is zeal that Allah loves and zeal that Allah hates. The zeal Allah loves is zeal in the face of suspicion, and the zeal Allah hates is zeal without suspicion. There is pride that Allah hates and pride that Allah loves. The pride Allah loves is a man’s pride in himself during battle and during charity, and the pride Allah hates is pride in boasting.” In another narration: “in oppression.”
