Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: He said: Whoever approaches an animal, there is no prescribed punishment on him. [Narrated by al-Tirmidhi and Abu Dawud]
Al-Tirmidhi said, quoting Sufyan al-Thawri: This is sounder than the first hadith, “Whoever approaches an animal, kill him,” and this is the practice among the people who have knowledge.

امام ترمذی نے سفیان ثوری سے روایت نقل کی ہے کہ انہوں نے کہا پہلی حدیث کہ جو آدمی کسی چوپایہ سے بدفعلی کرے گا تو تم اس کو قتل کر دو اس کی بہ نسبت سے یہ دوسری حدیث قابل ترجیح ہے اور اہل علم کا اسی پر عمل ہے۔
