Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said while on the pulpit: “O people, be humble, for I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: ‘Whoever humbles himself for Allah, Allah raises him; he is small in his own eyes but great in the eyes of people. Whoever is arrogant, Allah lowers him; he is small in the eyes of people but great in his own eyes, until he is more insignificant to them than a dog or a pig.’”
