سیدتنا حفصہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے
ارشاد فرمایا: جو کوئی عراف1 کے پاس جائے اور اس سے کسی چیز کے بارے میں دریافت کرے تو اس
کی چالیس راتوں کی عبادت قبول نہیں ہوتی۔ (مسلم)

(1) The statement: "Whoever visits a diviner": Al-Nawawi said: A diviner is a type of soothsayer. Al-Khattabi and others said: A diviner deals with knowing the place of stolen or lost items. Ali Al-Qari said: A soothsayer claims knowledge of future secrets, while a diviner deals with stolen or lost items and similar matters. Thus, in Al-Mirqat.
