Narrated by Abdul Aziz ibn Hakim: "I saw Ibn Umar raise his hands to the level of his ears only during the first Takbir of the prayer, and he did not raise them at any other time."

Allah Almighty says: "Restrain your hands and establish prayer." (Quran 4:77) The author of Al-Kanz al-Madfun and Al-Fulk al-Mashhun said: "This indicates that raising the hands is not done during transitions in prayer."

اللہ عزّ وجلّ کا ارشاد ہے: ”كُفُّوْا اَيْدِيَكُمْ وَاَقِيْمُوا الصَّلٰوةَ“ (سورۃ نساء،پ:5، ع:11،آیت نمبر:77) یعنی تم اپنے ہاتھوں کو روکو اور نماز کے پابند ہوجاؤ۔ صاحب ”الكنز المدفون والفلك المشحون“ نے کہا ہے کہ اس قول باری تعالیٰ میں اس بات کی دلیل ہے کہ شروع نماز کی تکبیر تحریمہ کے سوا پوری نماز میں تکبیرات انتقالات کے وقت رفع یدین (یعنی کانوں تک ہاتھ اٹھانے کو) ترک کیا جائے۔ (تاکہ ”كُفُّوْا اَيْدِيَكُمْ“ کے حکم کی تکمیل ہو۔)12
