Chapter on The Description of Prayer

Zujajat al-Masabih 1094Volume 1

English

And from her (Aisha), who said: When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ raised his head from bowing, he would not prostrate until he stood straight. When he prostrated and raised his head, he would not prostrate again until he sat upright. He would spread his left leg. [Narrated by Ibn Majah] In a narration by Abu Dawud from Abu Humayd: Then he would go down to the ground in prostration, keeping his hands away from his sides and spreading his toes. Then he would raise his head, bend his left leg, and sit on it. He would sit upright until every bone returned to its place, then he would prostrate again. In another narration by Abu Dawud: He would spread his thighs without resting his stomach on them until he finished.
