It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) in a narration: "People will soon travel far and wide, seeking knowledge, but will find no one more knowledgeable than the scholar of Madinah." [Narrated by al-Tirmidhi]
In collection of Tirmidhi, Ibn Uyaynah said: "This refers to Malik ibn Anas." Similarly, 'Abd al-Razzaq narrated it, and Ishaq ibn Musa mentioned that Ibn Uyaynah said: "This refers to 'Abd al-Aziz ibn Abdullah al-Umari, the ascetic."

اور جامع ترمذی میں ہے کہ ابن عیینہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا کہ عالم مدینہ سے مراد امام مالک بن انس رضی اللہ عنہ ہیں، اور عبدالرزاق سے بھی اسی طرح وضاحت ہے، البتہ اسحٰق بن موسیٰ نے کہا کہ میں نے ابن عیینہ رضی اللہ عنہ کو کہتے ہوئے سنا کہ عالم مدینہ سے مراد عمری زاہد ہیں۔ جن کا نام عبدالعزیز بن عبداللہ ہے۔
