Abdullah ibn Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated in a marfu’ narration: “Three people are loved by Allah: a man who stands at night reciting the Book of Allah, a man who gives charity with his right hand and conceals it from his left hand, and a man who is in a military expedition and his companions flee, but he faces the enemy.”
