Uqbah ibn Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Have you not seen the verses revealed tonight the like of which has never been seen? 'Say: I seek refuge with the Lord of the daybreak' and 'Say: I seek refuge with the Lord of mankind.'"

Note 2
(2) His statement: "Say: I seek refuge with the Lord of the dawn, etc." It appears that the Basmalah in these [surahs] is not part of their verses. This aligns with the view of the meticulous scholars among our companions that it was revealed to separate between surahs. This was mentioned in Al-Mirqat.
Note 2
(۲) قوله: قل أعوذ برب الفلق إلخ والظاهر أن البسملة فيهما ليست من آياتها، ويوافق ما عليه المحققون من أصحابنا أنها نزلت للفصل بين السور. قاله في «المرقاة».
