Al-Bara' ibn 'Azib (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that when the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) went to bed, he would lie on his right side and say: "O Allah, I submit myself to You, turn my face to You, entrust my affairs to You, and rely completely on You, out of hope in You and fear of You. There is no refuge or escape from You except to You. I believe in Your Book which You have revealed and in Your Prophet whom You have sent." The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Whoever says these words and then dies that night will die upon the natural faith."
