Al-Muhajir Al-Makki reported: Jabir ibn Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) was asked about a man who raises his hands upon seeing the Ka‘bah. He said, "I have never seen anyone do this except the Jews. We performed Hajj with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), and he never did so."

Note 1

he never did so

(1) The statement "he never did so": In Al-Lubab: "One should not raise hands upon seeing the Ka‘bah. Some say it is permissible. Al-Qari said in his commentary: 'The correct view is not to raise them, even while supplicating, as it is not mentioned in the reliable books of our scholars.' At-Ṭahawi explicitly stated that it is disliked according to our three Imams."
