Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ordered me to supervise his sacrifices, distribute their meat, skins, and coverings to charity, and not to pay the butcher from them. He said: 'We will pay him ourselves.'"

۳۱۰۰ - وَعَنْ عَلِىٍّ (رضي الله عنه) قَالَ: أَمَرَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ1 أَقُومَ عَلَى بُدْنِهِ، وَأَنْ أَتَصَدَّقَ بِلَحْمِهَا وَجُلُودِهَا وَأَجِلَّتِهَا، وَأَنْ لَا أُعْطِيَ الْجَزَارَ مِنْهَا. قَالَ: نَحْنُ نُعْطِيهِ مِنْ عِنْدِنَا مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ.

امیر المؤمنین حضرت علی رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے آپ فرماتے ہیں کہ
(حجۃ الوداع کے موقع پر) رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے مجھے حکم دیا کہ میں آپ کی اونٹنیوں پر
نگران رہوں اور (ذبح کے بعد) ان کے گوشت چمڑے اور جھولوں (یعنی اوجھڑی، بوٹی) کو (غرباء
اور فقراء میں) خیرات کر دوں اور قصاب کو (اجرت میں ان چیزوں کی) کوئی چیز (منہا کر کے) نہ دوں۔
حضور صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے یہ بھی ارشاد فرمایا کہ ہم قصائی کی اجرت اپنے پاس سے ادا کریں
گے۔ اس کی روایت بخاری اور مسلم نے متفقہ طور پر کی ہے۔

(1) Supervise sacrifices: This permits delegating slaughter and distribution. ('Umdat al-Qari) Al-Hidayah adds: "It's better to slaughter personally if skilled, as the Prophet (ﷺ) took with him one hundred camels and slaughtered himself over sixty on them during Hajjat al-Wada' and ordered Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) for the rest to slaughter them. As it is a qurbah (righteous deed) and Self-performance is preffered in righteous deeds, but delegation is permitted for the unskilled."

(۱) قوله: أن أقوم على بدنه : فيه جواز التوكيل في القيام على مصالح الهدي من ذبحه وقسمه لحمه وغير ذلك. قاله في عمدة القاري». وقال في الهداية»: والأولى أن يتولى ذبحها بنفسه إذا كان يُحسن ذلك؛ لما روي: أن النبي ﷺ ساق مائة بدنة في حجة الوداع، فنحر نيفا وستين بنفسه، وولى الباقي عليا ، ولأنه قربة والتولي في القربات أولى؛ لما فيه من زيادة الخشوع، إلا أن الإنسان قد لا يهتدي لذلك، ولا يحسنه فجوزنا توليته غيره.
