Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “The worst food is that of a wedding feast to which the rich are invited and the poor are excluded. Whoever neglects the invitation has disobeyed Allah and His Messenger.” Agreed upon.

٣٣٠١ - وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ (رضي الله عنه) قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُوْلُ اللهِ : شَرُّ الطَّعَامِ طَعَامُ الْوَلِيمَةِ يُدْعَى لَهَا الْأَغْنِيَاءُ وَيُتْرَكُ الْفُقَرَاءُ، وَمَنْ تَرَكَ الدَّعْوَةَ فَقَدْ عَصَى اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ.

علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا کہ ولیمہ کا وہ کھانا بدترین کھانا ہے جس میں مالداروں کو بلایا جاتا ہے
اور غریبوں کو چھوڑ دیا جاتا ہے اور جو شخص دعوت قبول نہ کرے اس نے اللہ اور اس کے رسول (صلی
اللہ علیہ وسلم) کی نافرمانی کی۔
اس کی روایت بخاری اور مسلم نے متفقہ طور پر کی ہے۔

(1) The statement: “The worst food, etc.”: Al-Tayyibi and Ibn al-Mubarak said: Among the excuses that waive the obligation or recommendation is if the food involves something dubious, is exclusive to the rich, or includes someone whose presence causes harm, whose company is unsuitable, or is invited to avert harm, gain influence, or assist in falsehood, or involves prohibitions like alcohol or entertainment, or silk furnishings, etc., as in Al-Marqah.

(2) The statement: “Has disobeyed Allah and His Messenger”: This is cited by those who say responding is obligatory. The majority interpreted it as emphasizing recommendation, as in Al-Marqah.

ف: واضح ہو کہ عادت یہ ہے کہ اکثر شادی کے کھانے میں برادری کے لوگ اور مالداروں کو بلایا جاتا ہے اور غرباء کو نہیں بلایا جاتا اسی وجہ سے ایسے کھانے کو برا قرار دیا گیا اگر ایسے موقعوں پر غرباء کو بھی بلایا جائے تو یہ برائی دور ہو جاتی ہے۔ حدیث شریف میں دعوت قبول نہ کرنے کی وعید کی وجہ یہ ہے کہ اللہ اور اس کے رسول کی مرضی یہ ہے کہ مسلمان آپس میں محبت اور الفت قائم رکھیں، اور دعوت دینا اور دعوت کا قبول کرنا محبت کا اور محبت کے زیادہ ہونے کا سبب ہے اس لئے جس نے دعوت قبول نہ کی تو اس نے اللہ اور اس کے رسول کی مرضی چھوڑی۔ اور یہ مسلمانوں کے لئے مناسب نہیں۔ حاشیہ مشکوٰۃ 12
