Note 2
(2) The statement: The Prophet’s (ﷺ) ring was on this, etc.: In Al-Fatawa: He should wear the ring on his left little finger, not other fingers or the right hand, as wearing it on the right is a sign of Rafida. However, permissibility is established for both right and left, as evidenced by narrations. So it is in Az-Zakhira, as said in Al-Alamkiriyya. It is said in Al-Marqah: Al-Nawawi said: It is tanzihi disliked for a man to wear a ring on the middle finger or the one next to it, but a woman may wear it on any finger.
