سیدنا عمران بن حصین رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ
علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: تعویذ نہیں ہوتی 1 مگر نظر کی وجہ سے یا ڈنک کے زہر سے۔ (احمد، ترمذی، ابوداؤد)
اور امام ابن ماجہ نے اس کو بریدہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت کیا ہے۔

(1) The statement: "No charm except for the evil eye or venom": In Sharh As-Sunnah: This does not negate the permissibility of charms for other conditions with Allah’s remembrance. It means no charm is more beneficial than for these two, like saying: No hero but Ali, no sword but Dhulfiqar. Thus, in Al-Mirqat.

(١) قوله: لا رقية إلا من عين أو حمة: في (شرح السنة) لم يرد به نفي جواز الرقية من غيرهما، بل تجوز الرقية بذكر اللّٰهتعالى في جميع الأوجاع، ومعنى الحديث: لا رقية أولى وأنفع من رقيتهما، كما تقول: لا فتى إلا علي، ولا سيف إلا ذوالفقار. كذا في (المرقاة).
