Amr ibn Al-‘As (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that one day a man stood and spoke at length 1, so Amr said, “If he had been concise in his speech, it would have been better for him. I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say, ‘I have seen, or been commanded, to be concise in speech, for conciseness is better.’”
