Note 1
(1) His statement: “a man is deprived of provision due to a sin he commits”: Al-Mudhir said it has two meanings: one, provision means reward in the Hereafter; second, worldly provision like wealth, health, and well-being. On the second, there is an issue as we see disbelievers and sinners with more wealth and health than the righteous. The answer is that the Hadith is specific to Muslims whom Allah intends to raise their rank in the Hereafter, punishing them for their sin in this world. [As stated in Al-Mirqat]
