Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Woe to the slave of the dinar, the slave of the dirham, and the slave of fine clothes. If given, he is pleased; if not, he is displeased. Woe to him, and may he be overturned. If pricked, may he not recover. Blessed is the servant holding the reins of his horse in the path of Allah, with disheveled hair and dusty feet. If he is on guard, he is on guard; if in the rear, he is in the rear. If he seeks permission, it is not granted; if he intercedes, he is not heeded.”
