Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: “Beware of the forbidden in building, for it is the foundation of ruin.” 1

٥٠٠٤ - وَعَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ (رضي الله عنهما) أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ: «اتَّقُوا الْحَرَامَ فِي الْبُنْيَانِ؛ فَإِنَّهُ 1 أَسَاسُ الْخَرَابِ. رَوَاهُ الْبَيْهَقِيُّ فِي شُعَبِ الْإِيْمَانِ».

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ نبی اکرم ﷺ نے ارشاد
فرمایا: تعمیرات میں حرام سے بچو کیونکہ وہ خرابی کی جڑ ہے 1۔ (بیہقی: شعب الایمان)۔

(1) His statement: “For it is the foundation of ruin”: The implied meaning is the foundation of the ruin of religion or the ruin of the building. The first implies the permissibility of spending lawful wealth on building, while the second does not. The latter is more fitting for this chapter. (As stated in Al-Mirqat.)

(۱) قوله: فإنه أساس الخراب التقدير : أساس خراب الدين، أو أساس خراب البنيان، فعلى الأول يدل على جواز إنفاق الحلال في البنيان، وعلى الثاني لا . وهذا أنسب بالباب. كذا في «المرقاة».
