Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: It is as if I see the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) narrating 1 a prophet from the prophets whose people struck him and wounded him, and he was wiping the blood from his face and saying: "O Allah, forgive my people, for they do not know."
(1) His statement: Narrating a prophet: Sheikh Ibn Hajar said: I did not come across the explicit identification of this prophet, and it is possible it was Noah, or he meant himself, the noble one, mentioned by way of ambiguity. (As stated in Al-Lama'at).
