Abu Juhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that they said: “O Messenger of Allah, you have aged 1.” He said: “Surah Hud and its sisters 2 have aged me.”
سیدنا ابوجحیفہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! آپ2 پر
بوڑھاپا ظاہر ہو گیا، حضور صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: سورۃ ہود اور اس جیسی1 سورتوں نے
مجھے بوڑھا کر دیا۔ (ترمذی)۔

(1) His statement: “you have aged” means signs of weakness appeared before the time of old age, not that much white hair appeared, as At-Tirmidhi narrated from Anas that he counted only fourteen white hairs on the Messenger of Allah’s head and beard. (As stated in Al-Mirqat)

At-Tawrabushti said: It means concern for their contents of the Resurrection’s terrors and past nations’ events took its toll on me, aging me before my time out of fear for my nation.
