Ubadah ibn as-Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “I have told you so much about the Dajjal that I fear you may not comprehend. The Dajjal, the false Messiah, is a short man 1, bow-legged, with curly hair, his eye effaced, neither protruding nor sunken. If it becomes confusing for you, know that your Lord is not one-eyed.”

٥٢٦٤ - وَعَنْ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ (رضي الله عنه) عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ: «إِنِّي قَدْ حَدَّثْتُكُمْ عَنِ الدَّجَّالِ حَتَّى خَشِيتُ أَنْ لَا تَعْقِلُوا، إِنَّ مَسِيحَ الدَّجَّالِ رَجُلٌ قَصِيرٌ1 أَفْحَجُ جَعْدٌ أَعْوَرُ مَطْمُوسُ الْعَيْنِ لَيْسَ بِنَاتِئَةٍ وَلَا حَجْرَاءَ، فَإِنْ أُلْبِسَ عَلَيْكُمْ فَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ رَبَّكُمْ لَيْسَ بِأَعْوَرَ». رَوَاهُ أَبُوْ دَاوُدَ.

سیدنا عبادہ بن صامت رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے، رسول اللہ
صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: یقیناً میں نے تمکو دجال کے بارے میں بیان کیا یہاں تک کہ مجھے
اندیشہ ہو گیا کہ تم سمجھ نہ سکو گے یقیناً مسیح دجال پست قد1، پنڈلیاں پھیلی ہوئی، گھنگھریالے بال
والا، کانا سپاٹ آنکھ والا ہوگا، اسکی آنکھ نہ ابھری ہوئی ہوگی اور نہ دھنسی ہوئی ہوگی، پس اگر تم پر مشتبہ
ہو جائے تو جان لو کہ تمہارا رب کانا نہیں ہے۔ (ابوداؤد)۔

(1) His statement: “short”: This seems inconsistent with the prior mention of him as the greatest of creation. The reconciliation is that he may be short yet stout, with a grand build, fitting his role as a source of great trial. Alternatively, his greatness refers to his awe-inspiring presence. It is said: It is possible that Allah alters him upon his emergence. (As stated in Al-Mirqat)
