Chapter on the Virtues of the Prophet’s Household (ﷺ) (may Allah be pleased with them)

Zujajat al-Masabih 5918Volume 5

English

Usamah ibn Zayd (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated: I visited 1 the Prophet (ﷺ) one night for a need. He came out, covering something I did not know what it was. When I finished my need, I said: “What is this you are covering?” He uncovered it, and it was Hasan and Husayn on his hips. He said: “These are my sons and the sons of my daughter. O Allah, I love them, so love them, and love those who love them.” [Narrated by At-Tirmidhi] We say: O Allah, make us among those who love and support them, and do not make us among those who hate or oppose them.

Note 1

visited

(1) The statement “visited”: In Al-Qamus, visiting means coming at night, so the phrase implies emphasis or confirmation, meaning I came to him one night. The statement “hips”: With a fathah on the waw and kasrah on the kaf, meaning above the thigh, as in Al-Qamus. (As stated in Al-Mirqat)

Note 1
