Buraydah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: While the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was delivering a sermon to us, Hasan and Husayn came, wearing two red shirts 1, walking and stumbling. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) descended from the pulpit, carried them, and placed them in front of him. Then he said: “Allah has spoken the truth: Your wealth and your children are but a trial [Qur’an 64:15]. I looked at these two boys walking and stumbling, and I could not be patient until I interrupted my speech and lifted them.”

٥٩٢٧ - وَعَنْ بُرَيْدَةَ (رضي الله عنه) قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لا يَخْطُبُنَا إِذْ جَاءَ الْحَسَنُ وَالْحُسَيْنُ عَلَيْهِمَا قَمِيصَانِ1 أَحْمَرَانِ يَمْشِيَانِ وَيَعْثُرَانِ، فَنَزَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مِنَ الْمِنْبَرِ، فَحَمَلَهُمَا وَوَضَعَهُمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: «صَدَقَ اللهُ: «﴿إِنَّمَا أَمْوَالُكُمْ وَأَوْلَادُكُمْ فِتْنَةٌ﴾، نَظَرْتُ إِلَى هَذَيْنِ الصَّبِيَّيْنِ يَمْشِيَانِ وَيَعْثُرَانِ، فَلَمْ أَصْبِرْ حَتَّى قَطَعْتُ حَدِيثِي وَرَفَعْتُهُمَا. رَوَاهُ التَّرْمِذِيُّ وَأَبُو دَاوُدَ النَّسَائِيُّ.

حضرت بریدہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ
وسلم ہم کو خطبہ دے رہے تھے کہ حضرت حسن و حسین آئے ان دونوں پر دو سرخ قمیصیں تھیں(32) وہ
دونوں چلتے اور لڑکھڑاتے تھے تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم منبر سے اتر آئے اور ان دونوں کو اٹھا لئے اور
اپنے سامنے دونوں کو بٹھا لئے پھر فرمایا: اللہ نے سچ فرمایا: ”اِنَّمَا اَمْوَالُكُمْ وَاَوْلَادُكُمْ
فِتْنَةٌ“(64،التغابن، آیت نمبر:15) تمہارے اموال اور تمہاری اولاد امتحان ہیں میں ان دونوں
بچوں کو چلتے اور لڑکھڑاتے دیکھا تو صبر نہیں کرسکا یہاں تک کہ میں اپنی بات کو روکا اور ان دونوں کو اٹھا لیا۔
