Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “How many a disheveled, dusty person with two worn garments, unnoticed, if he swears by Allah, Allah fulfills it 1. Among them is Al-Bara ibn Malik.”

(1) The statement “how many a disheveled”: Ibn Al-Malik said: “How many” is the subject, “from” clarifies it, and the predicate is “unnoticed.” The apparent predicate is “if he swears by Allah, He fulfills it,” meaning He makes him truthful among people. The statement “with two worn garments”: Meaning possessing two tattered clothes. The statement “unnoticed”: Meaning disregarded or ignored due to insignificance. (As stated in Al-Mirqat)

(۱) قوله: كم من أشعث إلخ : قال ابن الملك: «كم» خبرية مبتدأ، و «من» مبين لها، وخبره لا يؤبه». والظاهر أن الخبر هو قوله: «لو أقسم على الله لأبره أي لأمضاه على الصدق وجعله بارا في الخلق. وقوله: «ذي طمرين» بكسر فسكون، أي صاحب ثوبين خلقين. وقوله: «لا يؤبه بضم ياء وسكون واو. وقد يهمزه وفتح موحدة، ففي النهاية»: لا يبالي به، ولا يلتفت إليه الحقارته. كذا في «المرقاة».

(37) قوله: كم من اشعث الخ. علامہ ابن ملک نے فرمایا کم خبریہ ہے اور مبتداء ہے اور لفظ من بیانیہ ہے۔ اور لايؤبه اس کی خبر ہے مگر ظاہری بات یہ ہے کہ لو أقسم على الله لابره یہ جملہ اس کی خبر ہے لابره یعنی اس کو سچا کر دکھائے گا اور مخلوق میں اس کو قسم پوری کرنے والا بنا دے گا۔ وقوله: ذى طمرين. طاء کو زیر (کسرہ) میم کو جزم یعنی دو پرانے کپڑے والا۔ وقوله: لايؤبه یاء کو پیش اور واو کو جزم اور کبھی وہ ہمزہ سے پڑھا جاتا ہے اور باء کو فتحہ (زبر)۔ صاحب نہایہ نے فرمایا: جس کی پرواہ نہیں کی جاتی اور اس کو حقیر سمجھ کر اس کی طرف توجہ نہیں کی جاتی۔ (مرقات)
