Chapter on Delaying and Advancing Prayers

Zujajat al-Masabih 838Volume 1

English

From Ibn Umar, who said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Whoever forgets a prayer and does not remember it until he is with the Imam and has finished his prayer, then when he finishes his prayer, let him repeat the one he forgot, and then let him repeat the one he prayed with the Imam."

Note 1

And from Ibn Umar...

(1) His saying: "And from Ibn Umar..." These hadiths are meant to clarify the rulings regarding making up missed prayers for the one who follows the proper sequence. Ibn al-Humam in Fath al-Qadir and the author of Bahr al-Ra'iq in the commentary on al-Manar have lengthy discussions on what our scholars have concluded regarding the condition of performing the missed prayer before the regular prayer for the validity of the performance. Those who wish may refer to them.

Note 1
