Narrated by Muslim ibn Yasaar: Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) was asked about the verse: "And when your Lord took from the Children of Adam, from their loins, their descendants..." (Al-A'raf 7:172). Umar said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) being asked about it. He said: 'Indeed, Allah created Adam, then He wiped his back with His right hand and extracted from him his descendants. He said: I have created these for Paradise, and they will act according to the deeds of the people of Paradise. Then He wiped his back again and extracted from him his descendants. He said: I have created these for Hell, and they will act according to the deeds of the people of Hell.'" A man asked: "Then what about the deeds, O Messenger of Allah?" The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) replied: "When Allah creates a servant for Paradise, He directs him to the deeds of the people of Paradise, so that he dies while performing the deeds of the people of Paradise, and He will admit him into Paradise through them. And when Allah creates a servant for Hell, He directs him to the deeds of the people of Hell, so that he dies while performing the deeds of the people of Hell, and He will admit him into Hell through them." ”یوم اَلَست“ میں آدم علیہ السلام کی پشت سے ان کی ذریت کو باہر نکال لیا ان میں سے ایک حصہ تو جنتی تھا اور دوسرا دوزخی، جنتی جنت والے عمل پر مرے گا اور دوزخی دوزخ والے عمل پر مرے گا۔ عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے فرمایا: میں نے سنا ہے اس کے بارے میں آنحضرت صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے پوچھا جا رہا تھا تو تب آپ نے فرمایا کہ اللہ نے آدم علیہ السلام کو پیدا کیا، پھر ان کی پشت پر اپنا سیدھا ہاتھ پھیرا اور ان کی ذریت (اولاد) کو باہر نکالا، اور فرمایا کہ میں نے ان کو جنت کے لئے پیدا کیا اور یہ جنتیوں کا عمل کریں گے۔ پھر آدم علیہ السلام کی پشت پر ہاتھ پھیرا اور ان کی ذریت کو نکالا اور کہا کہ میں نے ان کو دوزخ کے لئے پیدا کیا ہے اور یہ دوزخیوں کا عمل کریں گے، پس ایک شخص نے کہا: پھر کیوں عمل کیا جائے یارسول اللہ! (جو ہونا تھا سو ہو چکا) تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ اللہ نے جب بندہ کو جنت کے لئے پیدا کیا تو اس کو جنتیوں کے کام میں لگا دیا گیا یہاں تک کہ اس کی موت جنتیوں کے اعمال میں سے کسی عمل پر ہوگی اور اس کی وجہ سے اس کو اللہ تعالیٰ جنت میں داخل کر دیں گے اور اللہ نے جب بندہ کو دوزخ کے لئے پیدا کیا تو وہ دوزخیوں کے کام میں لگا دیا گیا یہاں تک کہ وہ دوزخیوں کے اعمال میں سے کسی عمل پر مرے گا، اور اس کی وجہ سے اس کو اللہ دوزخ میں داخل کر دیں گے۔ (اس کی روایت امام مالک، ترمذی اور ابوداؤد نے کی ہے)۔
