Chapter on Mosques and Places of Prayer

Zujajat al-Masabih 954Volume 1

English

It is narrated from As-Sa'ib ibn Yazid (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I was sleeping in the mosque when a man threw pebbles at me. I looked and saw that it was 'Umar ibn Al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him). He said, "Go and bring those two men." I brought them, and he asked, "Who are you, or where are you from?" They said, "We are from the people of Ta'if." He said, "If you were from the people of Madinah, I would have punished you severely. You raise your voices in the mosque of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)."
