It is narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr ibn Al-'As (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: "When the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) entered the mosque, he would say: 'I seek refuge in Allah, the Almighty, and in His Noble Face and His eternal authority from the accursed Satan.'" He said: "When he said this, Satan would say: 'He is protected from me for the rest of the day.'"

۹۸۷ - وَعَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ (رضي الله عنهما) قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُوْلُ إِذَا دَخَلَ الْمَسْجِدَ: «أَعُوْذُ بِاللهِ الْعَظِيمِ وَبِوَجْهِهِ الْكَرِيمِ وَسُلْطَانِهِ الْقَدِيمِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّحِيمِ»، قَالَ: فَإِذَا قَالَ ذَلِكَ قَالَ الشَّيْطَانُ: حَفِظَ مِنِّي سَائِرَ الْيَوْمِ». رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُدَ.

عبداللہ بن عمرو بن العاص رضی اللہ عنہما سے روایت ہے، انہوں نے کہا کہ
رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم جب مسجد میں داخل ہوتے تو یہ دعاء پڑھتے: ”أَعُوذُ بِاللّٰهِ الْعَلِيِّ الْعَظِيمِ
(خدائے بزرگ و برتر کی اور اس کریم ذات کی اور اس کے دیرینہ غلبہ کی پناہ میں آتا ہوں
شیطان مردود سے۔) آنحضرت صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا کہ جب کوئی شخص یہ دعاء کرتا ہے تو
شیطان کہتا ہے کہ یہ شخص میرے (شر سے) تمام دن محفوظ رہا۔ (اس کی روایت ابوداؤد نے کی ہے۔)
